FROM Perris Auto Speedway – www.perrisautospeedway.com

Spectator gates will open at 2:00 PM, qualifying will begin at 6:00 and the first race will take the green flag at 7:15.

“It is going to be a full day of racing and fun for the entire family,” longtime Perris Auto Speedway promoter Don Kazarian said on Monday. “There will be autograph sessions for early arriving fans, a live band and, of course, the best racers in the nation competing for Midget racing’s most prestigious title and a chance to kiss the Agie trophy. We also hope a lot of fans come out early in the day to tailgate in the spectator parking lot.”

There will be two autograph sessions before the race. The first one will be from 2:30 – 3:30 on the front straightaway of the famous Riverside County clay oval featuring all of the drivers and cars entered in this year’s race. From 3:30 to 4:30 there will be another autograph session in the track’s sports bar featuring some of the legends of the Turkey Night Grand Prix including this year’s Grand Marshal Sleepy Tripp, past Turkey Night winners Rick Goudy (1978), Kevin Olsen (1983), Chuck Gurney (1988 & 1989) and Jordan Hermansador (1994).

In the racing portion of the show, the fastest 14 cars in qualifying will be locked in to the 98-lap main event. All of the other cars will contest a pair of qualifying races with the top eight from each of those gaining their tickets into the feature. Those who do not proceed to the main event from qualifying or the qualifying races and who have a provisional, will be eligible to join the main event as well.

JFM is happy to announce the drivers we will have for Turkey Night!

Lincoln, Indiana’s Dave Darland will be wheeling the Jimmy May tuned King Racing Products / A&A Precision CNC Machine / Berry Pack Midget Spike/Fontana #73. Dave won the 18th Annual Oval Nationals right here just earlier this month on November 2nd. Darland has had an incredible year, once again… “Anytime Dave Darland is on the racetrack, he is a potential winner,” Perris promoter Don Kazarian said. “He is one of the greatest open wheel drivers of all time and on top of that, he is one of the nicest guys in all of racing. A true winner and a class act all the way.” We are thrilled to have Dave for this race!

Also running for JFM this Turkey Night, will be Kevin Thomas Jr. out of Cullman, Alabama. Thomas, 22, tied champion Bryan Clauson and Darland for the most wins in the USAC National Sprint Car Series with 7 in 2013. Kevin has placed in the top 10 every one of his last 10 races, winning at Tri-State Speedway in Haubstadt, IN.

And, we will have the “Wild Child” Jac Haudenschild from Wooster, Ohio. Jac has won 3 of his last 10 races, has strong roots in Southern California and has been racing and winning since 1974.
All of us at JFM are excited to have such talent running for us on Turkey Night! We hope to see everyone at the track.

Dave Darland, out of Walton, Indiana, has had a phenomenal year to go along with his incredible career. Dave is coming off a $15,000 payday just last weekend at the Budweiser Oval Nationals. It should go without saying the caliber of this driver, anyone who knows Sprint Car racing knows the seemingly unending list of accomplishments this talented driver has racked up over the years. Some of the Highlights include 3x H.A.R.F. Driver of the year (1994-1997-1999), 1995 Buckeye Auto Racing Fan Club Driver of the Year, 3x Arnie Knepper Memorial award recipient, 15x I.S.W. Feature Winner (puts him #1 on The All Time Indiana Sprint Week win list) and so, so much more over his more than two decade storied career.

This year Dave claimed second behind Bryan Clauson in the National Sprint Car Series, though as mentioned earlier, he won over Clauson just last week in the 2013 Bud Nationals. Last year Dave finished just 5 points behind Clauson for the same series! Darland has placed in the top 10 in nearly every race he has been in and has won at least eight this year alone!

JFM, Jimmy May and the Team, our partners and everyone involved is excited to have Dave Darland wheeling the A&A Precision CNC Machine / King Racing Products / Berry Pack / CAM2 Blue Blood Racing Oils #73.

Darland will run both the Midget and the non-winged Sprint classes on all three nights of this national level racing in Peoria this coming Thursday, Friday and Saturday.

Come out to the track and support JFM and Dave Darland. Follow the full weekend of racing as it happens! @JFM_Racing

With just 3 races together to date, we have gotten stronger, more confident and have placed better each race.

18th Annual BUDWEISER OVAL NATIONALS | Perris Auto Speedway | Perris, CA

Thursday - "USAC Grudge Series" USAC Western Sprint Car Series VS USAC Southwest Sprint Car Series.

Last night was the 360 part of the 3 days of the Budweiser Oval Nationals with the ‘Grudge Series’, where 36 of the nation’s best sprint drivers and teams put it all out on the track. It was an exciting night of racing!
Stanbrough and JFMJon Stanbrough and the dialed in JFM King Racing Products / A&A Precision CNC Machine / Berry Pack #73 put in a time of 16.902 for 4th fast to get the evening started. A bit of bad luck on Stanbrough’s heat race, where Jon got into Bruce St. James coming around turn 2 on the third lap and flattened his right front tire. This put him in the back where he stayed for the Heat 4. Stanbrough started on the pole and easily stayed out front through the 10 lap semi, taking the checkered and winning it.

The Feature for the 1st round of the 2013 Budweiser Oval Nationals, Stanbrough started on the inside of the 9th row, 17th. Coming from the back, Jon quickly powered his way up to 12th/13th where we had some yellows around the 3rd through 5th laps. By the 10th lap of the 30 lap feature, Stanbrough was running 9th where he traded the 8th and 9th positions all the way through to the long yellow of the 27th lap where several cars got tangled in turn 1… should have been a red. On the restart, Jon was running 8th and surged to 6th. With 1 lap to go, Clauson taking hold of the race but got up on the rubber and spun into the wall on 3/4 just as Stanbrough was charging 5th and even 4th as they threw the yellow. The race ended there on the 29th lap and they gave Stanbrough 5th. Jon did get the Hard Charger for the 17th – 5th.

Qualified – 4th
Heat 4 – NT (6th)
Semi – WINS (1st)
Feature – 5th (17th)

Tonight we are still here in Perris where the perfect 72 degree is agreeable with JFM and fans alike. This will be the USAC National & CRA Sprint Cars. For the next 2 days we will have Stanbrough wheeling the 410 #73. Excited to get out there and put it all on the track!!

Follow the race @JFM_Racing

JFM is looking forward to seeing all our family, friends and partners at the PAS tonight!
